Landikotal: June 09: A protest demonstration of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf  (PTI) against drone strike, forces operation and load shedding was held here at Bacha Khan square, main Landikotal bazaar on Sunday. The event was organized under the auspices of PTI, Landikotal chapter and was attended by dozens of local tribesmen, traders and shopkeepers.

The protesters were holding banners inscribed with slogans in favor of their demands. They were also chanted full throat slogans like,”stop drone strikes, halt forces operation in Fata” (Federally Administered Tribal Areas).

Addressing on the occasion PTI Fata, leader Abdurraziq Shinwari said drone strikes are not only against the violation of Pakistan sovereignty but also have inflicted heavy collective damages in tribal belt which has produced negative repercussions. He asked the newly elected government of Pakistan Muslim League(N) to materialise its promises, it had made to its countrymen during election and stop the drone strikes and forces operation in Fata.

He also came down hard on local political administration officials and said that they have turned a blind eye towards the masses miseries and are interested to collect illicit money from the check posts. He also criticised the TESCO (Tribal Electric Supply Company) officials for prolonging injustice, load shedding in Landikotal which has suffered in all walks of life of the local tribal people. Shinwari warned that if the problems being faced by the tribal people were not dealt with in one week, the PTI workers will come on the roads in favor of their rights.

Major(r) Bakht Hussain in his address rejected amendments in FCR (Frontier Crimes Regulations) and declared it root cause for all miseries being faced by the tribesmen. He demanded complete abolishment of FCR and asked inclusion of Fata in mainstream. He stressed upon the dwellers of the area to be united if they want solution of their problems. Bakht Hussain called the Government to take initiatives to set up permanent peace atmosphere in the tribal belt. At the end the participants marched towards Landikotal press club and dispersed peacefully.
